this days are quite cheap. Cheap flights Phuket on domestic routes are offered by Air Asia and Nok Air. Nok Air is a subsidiary from Thai International the government owned Thai flag carrier. There have been a few more airlines offering Phuket flights until a couple of month ago but they had to close down due to their incompetence in running a airline, that included the crash in Phuket by One To Go airline.

There is one more airline offering Phuket flights, this is Bangkok Air, but they always have the highest prizes together with Thai International.

Firefly is somehow similar, usually their website doesn't work, there is also no flight schedule, its a puzzle why they let companies like that operate airplanes, when not even their administration works.

On top of it, Air Asia is the Asian champion in flight delays and they also don't want to refund or change a ticket even after several hours delay, be careful. I know this because it happen several times to me out of Bangkok and out of Phuket, I stopped to use them. Plus Dragonair from Hong Kong.

If you just arrive without a hotel booking just go to Phuket town and check for a hotel. But never tell to a taxi, limousine driver, or whomever that you don't have a hotel booking since in this case they will consider you as their personal property and ask commission from the hotel they bring you, the hotel will pay this commission every day you stay in the hotel since they are afraid of this taxi groups. The same is when you book a hotel at

the arrival hall. A alternative out of this would be to stay in the hotel for one night only, check out the next day and after one hour check in again for a lower price.
